Translation | To the Divine Power of Fortuna of the guild of carpenters/builders. I, Marcus Valerius Felix, honoratus of the same guild have given (this) as a gift and dedicated (it) because I have been (raised to the rank of) double (receiver) of benefits for my merits on the authority of the magistrates by decree of the honorati and the decuriones. |
Notes on the source |
The restoration 'col(legii) fa[b(rum) tig(nuariorum)]' was suggested by Solin in Epigraphica-1990-123 in preference to 'col(legii) fa(brum)]. Waltzing had proposed fa[brum tig(nuariorum)]
According to La Rocca (preface to Cecamore 2002: 6-7) this inscription was recovered near the schola of the fabri tignuarii and not far from the temple of Minerva, the patron goddess of the collegium.
