Notes on dating It is very unlikely that the 'collegium centonariorum' at Rome would predate the creation or reform of the 'collegium fabrum' in 7 BCE. Since the inscription is dated to the 11th lustrum this implies a postquem date-range 44/48 CE (the date used by EDR). The spelling 'conlegii' suggests a date not later than the mid-first century CE. (See Liu 2009: 38)

Translation
Lucius Octavius Secundus Maior, freedman of Lucius, magister quinquennalis of the guild of clothmen during the 11th lustrum and decurio, lived 55 years.
Lucius Octavius Primigenius lived 58 years. Lucius Octavius Secundus lived … years. Wayfaring brothers of the guild of clothmen.
