Translation
Notes on the source Note Verboven: accepted as genuine by La Rocca (in Cecamore 2002: 5-8) but like many of the inscriptions preserved only in Ligorius' manuscripts doubtful (cf. Cooley 2012: 386-394). In this case for various specific reasons: Sabinus has the right social profile to be patron of the 'dendrophori' but certainly the 'quinquennalitas' was far below him. The consular date is suspiciously explicit on the names of the consuls, these are usually rendered as 'Saturnino et Gallo cos'. (see also the remarks on CIL 6, *570; *578)
