Notes on dating | The guilds of 'fabri' and of 'centonarii' were joined at some point between 109 and 131 CE (Liu 2009: 44), so this inscription (dated 'year 40' of the guild) must date to 149-171 CE. Boscolo (2003: 395-397; 2004) and Volontè Clerici (1996: 250-251) dated the insription to before the Flavian because the two persons mentioned appear to lack 'cognomina' and the text is very brief. The stone, however, is incomplete and its edges are deliberately chiselled, suggesting it was resized for a new purpose. |

Notes |
A dedication set up by two curatores of a collegium. The mention of anni XXXX strongly suggests that this was the joint collegium fabrum et centonariorum. The original purpose of the inscription (funerary, honorary?) can no longer be made out.
