Notes on dating The 'hederae distinguentes' and the absence of praenomina argues against an early date. The relative loquacity of the tekst suggests a date from the later second century onward, but the inscription is too atypical to attach much importance to that argument Laubry (2012: 129) tentatively suggests second or early third century.

The inscription is unfortunately unclear, but fraud had been committed, presumably, with the funeraticium. In compensation an altar was built.

]ciam ma[---] / fabrorum a[mici] / sui id est Att[ius] / Saturnino(!) et / Cassi(us) [---]tianu[s] / quo ill[e d]efunc/tus est eo quod / fraudem eiusdem / fune{ne}ris fec[e]/[run]t aram ponen/[dam] decrever[unt]
Translation … of the craftsmen, his friends?, that is Attius Saturninus and Cassius …tianus, there where he has died, because they have committed fraud concerning the funeral, have decreed that an altar has to be set up.
