Notes |
An funerary inscription set up by a 'friend' (amicus) to a freedman, Tullius M. l. Achilleus, who had achieved a prominent position in Ticinum, possibly including the quinquennalitas perpetua of the collegium of fabri and centonarii (abbreviated as CFC). Achilleus had also been curator muneris Tulliani, probably referring to the care/management of a gift (a building?) by a Tullius (possibly Achilleus himself or his patron). In view of the placement in the text it seems most likely this munus had been given to the guild.

For Tullius Achilleus, freedman of Marcus, (endowed) with the ornaments of decurio, worshipper of the Divine House, quinquennalis for life of the guild of craftsmen and clothmen (?), likewise curator of the munus Tullianus. Aelius Asclepiades (set up this monument) to his dearest friend.
