Notes on dating It is unlikely that an independent collegium fabrum' existed at Apulum before the establishment of the 'municipium Aurelium Apulense' by Marcus Aurelius. The ante quem date is derived from the Roman evacuation of Dacia in (probably) 271 CE.

A funeral monument for a patron and decurio of the guild, decreed and financed by the decuriones and principales.
We cannot make out whether this was the collegium fabrum of the colonia Aurelia Apulensis or the collegium fabrum of the municipium Septimium Apulense.

Translation
To the God-Spirits of the Dead. For Publius Aelius Valerianus, patron and decurio of the guild of craftsmen. He has lived 60 years. The decuriones and principales of the above mentioned guild, having collected money according to their own decree, have take care to have (this monument) made.
