Patronus of the fabri, centonarii and nautae Strenuus was clearly more than merely a local notable. He held religious and public offices in Apulum, Sarmizegetusa, and Drobeta (on the Danube). He also farmed the taxes on grazing land and trade. The latter may explain his connection to the 'nautae'. |
